Privacy & data protection
Girocodr creates payment QR codes directly on your device.
Account details are saved only in this browser
Account labels, recipient names, IBANs, and BICs are saved in this browser’s local storage. App preferences are kept there too. Girocodr does not upload this data. Clearing this site’s browser data removes it.
No tracking in the GiroCode
A GiroCode contains only the transfer details: name, IBAN, and optional BIC, amount, and reference. It contains no tracker and cannot report whether or by whom it was scanned. Anyone who receives the code can read these transfer details.
Usage statistics
We use our Matomo installation for basic usage statistics: app visits, outgoing link clicks, and the active light or dark appearance. Matomo is configured not to set tracking cookies. Entered account and payment details and QR-code content are not sent to Matomo. Analytics requests do contain technical data such as the IP address, browser information, and page URL.
You stay in control
You can delete locally stored data in Settings at any time. When you share or download a GiroCode, you decide who receives the transfer details it contains.

Before authorizing a transaction, users must verify all information shown in their banking app, particularly the recipient, IBAN, amount, and payment reference.
